How Custom Inflatables Brought the Hype to Paul vs Tyson Fight Night

When it comes to high-profile events, making an unforgettable impression is key.  That is why our team at Inflatable Design Group (IDG) was thrilled to take on the challenge of crafting 40-foot custom inflatables for the monumental Paul vs Tyson fight.  The fight was held at AT&T Stadium on November 15th where the stakes were high, the excitement was electric, and the promotional campaign was nothing short of massive.

The fight aired on Netflix and captivated over 60 million households.  As Jake Paul put it, the historic boxing event “crushed every viewership record for boxing since the advent of cable”.  IDG’s larger-than-life inflatables of headline fighters – Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, Katie Taylor, and Amanda Serrano – were featured at various promotional events leading up to fight night and eventually were outside the stadium on the big day.

Custom Inflatables for Paul vs Tyson Fight

For this event, Inflatable Design Group created six towering 40-foot inflatables.  Two Jake Paul inflatables and two Mike Tyson inflatables as well as one each of female boxers Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.  Each of the inflatables were meticulously crafted to resemble the fighters, capturing their likeness, physique, and even their tattoos.

Producing these inflatables required:

  • 85 hours of patterning and design
  • 100+ hours of sewing
  • 30 hours in the art department
  • Nearly 300 yards of fabric

These impressive inflatables were not just props – they were icons of the event.  Positioned outside AT&T Stadium of fight night, after a multi-city promotional tour, they drew fans in for photos while fueling excitement for fight night.

Touring the Paul vs Tyson Inflatables

Before taking their place outside the stadium on November 15th, the inflatable fighter replicas embarked on a multi-city promotional tour to drum up excitement for the fight.

The promotional tour started at the Texas State Fair about a month before Fight Night where the Jake Paul inflatable and Mike Tyson inflatable debuted.  The inflatables drew in crowds eager to take photos and predict the fight’s outcome.  It was heavily posted on social media platforms by attendees and event runners.
