Comic Con 2025 just wrapped up this past weekend in sunny San Diego and once again, the event delivered wall-to-wall fandom, creativity, and chaos in the best way possible. From massive activations by streaming giants to immersive brand takeovers, the streets outside the convention center were buzzing and of course, inflatables were right in the center of it all.
For Inflatable Design Group, Comic Con is basically our home turf. We have had the privilege of working with countless clients over the years to help them stand out in a sea of cosplay, collectibles, and camera flashes both in and outside the convention. This year we brought the weird and the wild to the party.
Adult Swim’s Pirate Purrty Got Even Weirder
Adult Swim returned with their ever-popular Pirate Purrrty on the green space across from the convention center. This annual activation has been a fan favorite and fixture of the Comic Con experience year after year. And this year, the inflatables really brought the nonsense.

The inflatable skull archway we made for last year’s event was dusted off, given a refresh, and back in action along with some of our other inflatables like the giant inflatable boat slide and inflatable dinosaur photo op. But the real scene-stealer this year was the Rick & Morty Buttworld Bounce House. As The Geekiary described it, “This inflatable monument to dimensional nonsense was both bizarre and brilliant.” Fans got to bounce around on inflatable butts and take fun photos.

Also new this year was the inflatable cat jousting activation. It was exactly what it sounds like. Two inflatable mattresses, each with an attached mechanical giant cat. Participants climbed on, grabbed foam weapons, and tried to knock their opponent off. It was fun for participants and spectators!

King of the Hill Comes Alive at Comic Con 2025
We also got to work with on Hulu’s King of the Hill activation. “Hank Hill’s Backyard” was a custom-built experience that took the show out of the tv and into the real world. Featured in this activation were many fun activities and a 10-foot-wide inflatable water tower topper, modeled after the show’s iconic Arlen, Texas landmark. We customized the inflatable with Hulu branding and it was secured it to a hard structure that helped bring the whole backyard scene to life.

Throwbacks and Greatest Hits
Inflatable Design Group has been inflating Comic Con for years now. We have done everything from a 25-foot inflatable Ozzy Osbourne, to a giant Batweels logo, and even that Tuca & Bertie inflatbales that sailed through the San Diego Bay after their barge tour made headlines in New York City and Los Angeles.

Inflatable Design Group + Comic Con = A Perfect Match
Between the energy, the fandom, and the unexpected moments, there is something special about Comic Con. It is why we love being part of it year after year. Whether we are helping a brand debut a new show, building out a fan fest, or just adding a little extra bounce to an activation, inflatables bring something you can’t ignore.

If you are already dreaming up Comic Con 2026, give us a call. Whether it is skulls, butts, or backyard BBQs, our team is ready to help your brand stand tall and get noticed!
